It is located 1 km from Cortijo El Morrón and can be visited by walking or by car, given the proximity to the house. Villavieja is recognizable by its wall, which closes the most accessible side of the end of the plateau where it sits, limited by the cliff. This structure was known by the neighbors of the nearby population, although it was unknown when and who built it.

Interest in Algarinejo's neighbors has allowed the archaeological interventions to elucidate the enigma of Villavieja starting in 2012, identifying the site as a fortified citadel of approximately 4,500 years old.
In short, Villavieja today can be considered as an archaeological reference for the identity of the neighbors of Fuentes de Cesna and Algarinejo, as well as being an exceptional heritage complex of the province of Granada and European Prehistory. Its relevance is outstanding because it is the only prehistoric settlement of Granada with murial structures perceptible with clarity from the sky.
